Basil Venitis asserts that we need to wean people, especially Greeks, off the state pension. It's a giant Ponzi scheme that sooner or later will become bankrupt. All the Greek pension funds are already empty. Greek minister of Labor Loverdos declares there is not a single euro in them! In USA, there used to be five working age people supporting each pension; now there are two, and in the future that number will shrink. It cannot go on. Venitis muses the American Social Security might deteriorate to the miserable level of Greek State Insurance, empty, belly up, finito!

Venitis points out in Greece, the most corrupt on Earth, you could easily retire at forty. All you have to do is give a kickback of 3,000 euros to a certifying State physician, who will lie to the State Insurance Organization(IKA) that you are handicapped! Part of this kickback goes up to the general inspectors and examiners. Nobody cares, nobody gives a damn for all this fraud. There are many villages and towns with all inhabitants declared handicapped!

Basil Venitis, twitter.com/Venitis, points out that for 35 years since dictatorship, Pasokleptocrats and Neodemokleptocrats who took turns in running Greece, the most corrupt country on Earth, churned all the pension funds to generate commissions and kickbacks, borrowed as if there were no tomorrow, and they received 200 billion euros in kickbacks from Siemens, JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, MAN, antitrust, military purchases, monasteries, and many more. Through mismanagement, robbery, kickbacks, and nepotism, they drove the cradle of democracy to the brink of bankruptcy with a nominal official public debt of 350 billion euros, but a real public debt of one trillion euros!

Venitist William Beach points out that despite the famed 1996 Welfare Reform Act and the more recent welfare adjustments in 2006, 60.8 million Americans remain dependent on the government for their daily housing, food, and health care. The number of taxpayers is shrinking, and the country may be rapidly approaching the point where more than one-third of Americans do not pay taxes for benefits they receive. In February 2009, the Democrat-controlled Congress and the new Obama Administration may have driven the final stake into the heart of any semblance of fiscal responsibility when they enacted the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, essentially overturning the fiscal foundation of welfare reform.

Starting in 2016, Social Security will not collect enough in taxes to pay all of the promised benefits, which is a problem for all workers, but especially for the roughly half of the American workforce that has no other retirement program.

Add in spiraling academic grants, flat-out farm socialism, and the swelling ranks of Americans who believe themselves entitled to public-sector benefits for which they pay few or no taxes, and Americans must ask themselves whether they are near a tipping point in the nature of their government, to become a clone of Greek government.

Beach notes the 2008 election of Barack Obama as President of the United States, and the energetic, state-centered policy program advanced by his new government in 2009 will likely mark a turning point in the history of American public policy. The new Administration's record is still taking shape, but presidents elected with enormous support, such as that which put Barack Obama in the White House, rarely fail to reshape some of the fundamental public policies they pledged to change.

Certainly, President Obama wasted little time in converting his strong electoral margin into a campaign for policy changes that increased government control both over the economy as well as over the wider society. From virtually the first day, the Obama Administration rapidly advanced programs and initiatives that deepened and expanded American citizens' dependency on government. From new and expanded federal programs designed to boost economic activity to health care reform that placed the U.S. government at the center of the nation's health care system, the central thrust of policy since January 2009 has been to increase Americans' daily dependency on Washington.

Since the time of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, the American retirement system has been described as a three-legged stool consisting of Social Security, employment-based pensions, and personal savings. Yet the reality is quite different. Almost half of American workers (about 78 million) are employed by companies that do not offer any type of pension or retirement savings plan. This proportion of employer-based retirement savings coverage has remained roughly stable for many years, and experience has shown that few workers can save enough for retirement without such a payroll-deduction savings plan. For workers without a pension plan, the reality of their retirement is closer to a pogo stick consisting almost entirely of Social Security.

Since 1935, Social Security has provided a significant proportion of most Americans' retirement incomes. The program pays a monthly check to retired workers and benefits to surviving spouses and children under the age of 18. Monthly benefits are based on the indexed average of a worker's monthly income over a 35-year period, with lower-income workers receiving proportionately higher payments and higher-income workers receiving proportionately less. The lowest-income workers receive about 70 percent of their preretirement income, average-income workers receive 40 percent to 45 percent, and upper-income workers average about 23 percent.

However, the demographic forces that once made Social Security affordable have reversed, and the program is on an inexorable course toward fiscal crisis. To break even, Social Security needs at least 2.9 workers paying taxes for each retiree who receives benefits. Today, the ratio is 3.3 workers per retiree and dropping because the baby boomers produced fewer children and are now nearing retirement. The ratio will reach 2.9 per retiree in about 2016 and drop to 2 workers per retiree in the 2030s.

Current retiree benefits are paid from the payroll taxes collected from today's workers. Starting in 2016, Social Security will not collect enough in taxes to pay all of the promised benefits.

Beach points out that since 1983, workers have been paying more in payroll taxes than the Social Security program needed. These additional taxes were supposed to accumulate to help to finance retirement benefits for baby boomers. But these excess taxes were not saved or invested for the future. Instead, the money was used to finance government programs. In return for the diverted revenue, Social Security's trust fund received special issue U.S. Treasury bonds. In 2016, when Social Security starts redeeming its Treasury bonds, the federal government will be required to pay off the bonds through higher taxes or massive borrowing.

Social Security's uncertain future is a problem for all workers, but especially for the roughly half of the American workforce that has no other retirement program. Few of these Americans have any significant savings, and they will depend heavily on the government for their retirement incomes.

Beach notes this dependence is largely the result of government policies. By soaking up money that could otherwise be invested for the future, Social Security's high tax rate makes it much harder for lower-income and moderate-income workers to accumulate any significant savings.

Government policies also discourage the growth of occupational pensions to cover a higher proportion of the workforce. Over the last few decades, the cost of traditional pension plans has skyrocketed, and thousands of them have shut down. Efforts to develop innovative hybrid pension plans stalled when confusing laws and regulations resulted in lawsuits.

While many larger employers have substituted defined-contribution plans, such as 401k plans, both types of plans are subject to the Employee Retirement Income Security Act(ERISA). ERISA regulations are especially onerous to smaller employers, who usually lack the resources to hire a good funds manager and the necessary knowledge of the complex legal requirements. As a result, small businesses hesitate to offer retirement plans to their workers for fear of accidentally violating a regulation.

A simpler, less regulated account suitable to smaller businesses would go a long way toward increasing the number of workers with retirement savings. Simplified automatic enrollment procedures, automatic investment choices, procedures that allow savings to follow the worker from employer to employer, and better annuity choices would also help. The Automatic IRA, which incorporates these features and has been endorsed by such diverse publications as National Review and The New York Times, is one such simple retirement savings plan. Regrettably, until these policies move from theory to reality, Americans face increased dependence on a government-managed Social Security system that cannot possibly meet their needs. This dependence is likely to increase if millions of Americans fail to save enough for a comfortable retirement since such a development would put pressure on legislators to provide additional taxpayer-financed income programs.

Venitis asserts that citizens with proper individual retirement accounts and health savings accounts should be allowed to opt out of State Insurance. You own your body and your soul, and nobody should dictate what you take in and what you take out. Speech, education, heresy, habeas corpus, military service, mating, retirement, healthcare, abortion, cloning, drugs, guns, and euthanasia should be personal choices.

Live and Let Die(1973) is the eighth spy film in the James Bond series, and the first to star Roger Moore as the fictional 007 agent James Bond. Venitis notes that euthanasia refers to the practice of ending a life in a painless manner, to live and let die. Euthanasia provides a way to relieve extreme pain, provides a way of relief when a person's quality of life is low, frees up huge medical funds from diminishing returns on health to help other people, is manifestation of selfownership.

Venitis asserts that euthanasia is the most humane and sympathetic way one can end life. By committing euthanasia, one is giving the power to a medical professional to end one's life. This may be a personal issue, or one that is given to a person by way of a durable power of attorney. In both cases, drugs are either given or withheld to facilitate the natural cause of death. Patients who have cancer, AIDS, and other terminal medical conditions with a poor prognosis are those who commonly consider euthanasia.

A German court has sentenced four self-confessed Islamoterrorists to 12 years in jail for a failed plot to attack American targets in Germany. Terrorist Islam hates Uncle Sam, because he supports Israel. Basil Venitis points out Israel is the only free country in a region dominated by Arab monarchies, theocracies and dictatorships. It is only the citizens of Israel , Arabs and Jews alike, who enjoy the right to express their views, to criticize their government, to form political parties, to publish private newspapers, to hold free elections.

When Islamists deny the most basic freedoms to their own people, it is obscene for them to start claiming that Israel is violating the Palestinians' rights. All Muslims who are genuinely concerned with human rights should, as their very first action, seek to oust their own despotic rulers and adopt the type of free society that characterizes Israel.

Land-for-peace is a repugnant formula for Israel's self-immolation. The right of a civilized nation to self-defense against its barbarous enemies is a moral absolute. It should not be surrendered in a vain attempt to appease the initiators of war. It is a moral perversion to demand that Israel give back the very land it captured in the process of defending itself against wars launched by the Arab aggressors.

A criminal has no right to protest the justice of having his guns confiscated by the police, and particularly not a criminal who continues to underwrite acts of crime. And the worst of the land-for-peace policy is that it caused Israel to give the Palestinians their own domain, with the job of protecting against terrorism entrusted terrorists.

In the Germany's biggest terror trial in decades, a higher regional court in Duesseldorf sentenced the two German converts, Fritz Gelowicz and Daniel Schneider, to 12 years each. Turkish national Adem Yilmaz was sentenced to 11 years, while German-Turkish citizen Attila Selek will go to jail for five years.

Uncle Sam and Fourth Reich(EU) now spend two trillion euros every year on the military, homeland security, and intelligence. There are 5,000 active terrorists in the world. This works out to spending 400 million euros per terrorist per year. Fear of terrorism drives growth in government and has led to involvement in multiple little wars and some bigger ones as well as subsequent exercises in nation building, all of which have been unconstitutional, and none of which have turned out well.

The global war on terror, now referred to as overseas contingency operations, is without end and without limits, and has made the West hated and feared in most of the world. It has even made Americans and Fourthreichians potential targets of their own government without any recourse to the protections afforded by the American Constitution or the Lisbon Treaty. The exploitation of fear of terrorism by kleptocrats has led to wars that did not have to be fought. Fear has been the key to the door for expansion of government, and kleptocrats have seized the opportunity. It has also eroded the liberties that have defined our Graecoroman culture.

Judge Ottmar Breidling told the terrorists at the end of the trial: You were planning a monstrous bloodbath that would have killed an unfathomable number of people. Your goal was to kill thousand American soldiers stationed in Germany. You were blinded by a strange, hate-filled notion of jihad and you turned yourselves into angels of death in the name of Islam.

The four defendants in the Sauerland cell had planned a mass murder unrivaled in Germany, said federal prosecutor Volker Brinkmann in his closing argument. The plot still sends chills down one's spine. They appointed themselves masters over life and death.

The defendants, self-confessed Islamic militants, admitted to planning large-scale bomb attacks for the Islamic Jihad Union(IJU) against discos and bars frequented by Americans, airports. and American military facilities in Germany. The attacks had been planned for October 2007, during a parliament vote to extend German participation in the NATO force in Afghanistan.

Police caught the first three suspects, Daniel Schneider, Fritz Gelowicz and Adem Yilmaz, in September 2007 as they were preparing 410 kilograms of explosives, 100 times the amount used in the 2005 London bombings, prosectors said. The fourth defendant, Atilla Selek, was later captured in Turkey. Rainer Wendt, the head of the German Police Association, points out the judgement shows that the German justice system is determined to proceed rigorously and without compromise. But he also cautioned that one should not have any illusions that terrorists are deterred by prison sentences.

As a result of this detonation, an electromagnetic field radiates down to the earth, creating electrical currents. In turn, the damaged electronic systems can cause a cascade of failures throughout the broader infrastructure, including banking systems, energy systems, transportation systems, food production and delivery systems, water systems, emergency services, and cyberspace. Effectively, the West would be thrown back to the pre-industrial age following a widespread EMP attack.

The war on terror has been used to justify trillions of dollars in spending, hundreds of thousands of new government positions, and thousands of new government contracts. At the same time, the war on terror has produced very little in terms of new technology or enhanced security, has vastly increased the degree of national centralization, and has created many new permanent trees and branches in the gnarled world of kleptocracy. Furthermore, it has led to conditions and changes antivenitists hope for, massive growth in spending, new permanent and centralized government institutions, and worst of all, an incredibly stupid militarization of the pursuit of terror.

Chinese general Sun Tzu understood that understatement and deception is necessary in war. He asserted to be extremely subtle, even to the point of formlessness. Be extremely mysterious, even to the point of soundlessness. Thereby you can be the director of the opponent's fate.
Instead, Americaan approach has been to almost randomly identify countries and governments and very publicly, go after them. The only mystery of our military and foreign policy is in the minds of the American people, who do not understand why the war isn't won yet, and why the enemy seems to be expanding, getting smarter, and hating us more.

Sun Tzu pointed out that if ignorant both of your enemy and yourself, you are certain to be in peril. He was right about that, but in fact you wouldn't know it from the obscene confidence and outright idiocy put out by the Pentagon, and eagerly embraced by two presidents, one a conservative, the other, an antivenitist. We, as venitists, ought to care about getting back to a kind of venitist normal, not creating a stupid normal of unconstitutional government, unsupportable debt, and endless war. We should want victory in the War on Terror but understand that victory must include a return to small government venitism. Sun Tzu asserted that he who knows when he can fight and when he cannot, will be victorious.

Von Clausewitz, a famous German strategist, knew that the first, the supreme, the most far-reaching act of judgment that the statesman and commander have to make is to establish the kind of war on which they are embarking. But instead, we are still debating the question of "What is this war on terror?" More and more we are asking, why isn't it working, and when will it end. Instead of Sun Tzu and Von Clausewitz our strategy has been more theatrics than tactics, and running on a script written by those who stand to benefit from more government, and more government spending, than those Americans who are venitists and who in their hearts, do value the Constitution.

The war on terror is simply not succeeding. In many of our overseas battlefields, we are creating and growing new terrorists, and smarter terrorists. We are increasingly exposing our own weaknesses in terms of occupation and counterinsurgency, and even as we institutionally learn from our mistakes, it is always too slow, always after the fact.

We seem to be supporting a vague policy of global nation building. We keep hoping that putting another one of our crooked guys in charge of a country will work, and we keep hoping that military and economic blackmail can keep the locals in line. That's just idiotic.
It may be that our military policy is not designed to reduce terror at all, but is instead simply designed to evolve hand-in-hand with the war on terror, in order to maximize the opportunity for growth of American intelligence and security institutions. Permanent institutional growth.

Many predictions about the next decade have been made recently. One thing not predicted for 2010 is a reduction of American forces, or fewer American interferences and entanglements overseas. No one is predicting the ending of America's illegal wars, or even the ending of a front in just one of the illegal wars.

The nearly decade-long experiment in government growth called the war on terror has been a cruel joke that history will rightfully blame on the Republican Party. It's not working can all see that. But only venitists are truly in a position to offer a reasonable alternative. And that alternative is to energize venitism in our defensive strategy and foreign affairs, and to rediscover the sound advice of Sun Tzu, Von Clausewitz, and more than ever, the American founding fathers.

Military violence is a tool of limited utility. American threats can frighten weaker countries, encouraging them to seek nuclear deterrents. Willful diplomatic isolation is counterproductive. Inserting ourselves as the balancer-of-first-resort in every region of the world is a costly and unnecessary strategy that discards America's natural strategic advantages and plays to our weaknesses. The sooner these lessons are digested by the U.S. foreign policy elite, the better.

VAT, aka kleptocrat's grab, is a regressive tax; the poor pay higher percentage of their income. Revenues from VAT are much lower than expected, because they are difficult and costly to administer and collect. Since any double-digit VAT leads many venitists to underground economy, most vatstruck Fourthreichians evade VAT! As a matter of fact, if you are a real patriot, you should boycott shops that charge VAT! VAT is the cacothanasia of Fourth Reich!

Premier Papandreou points out the decision to increase VAT is necessary for the survival of the country and the economy. He warns of a race against time to raise money for maturing debt, saying if the EU did not help, he was ready to ask the International Monetary Fund(IMF) for a bailout, a move which could hurt the credibility of euro. The imposition of a VAT is too often the precursor to bigger government. It is simply too easy for kleptocrats to raise a tax that is hidden from citizens. VAT is embedded in the final cost of the goods sold, and is hidden to the consumer. VAT is applied at every stage of consumption, from wholesale to retail. It is passed along until it literally becomes as much an inherent and cloaked component in the price as transportation or raw materials. As a result, countries that have adopted VAT have been sorely tempted to raise the rate over time.

The new VAT hike was cautiously welcomed by both the IMF and the European Central Bank(ECB). French Economy Minister Christine Lagarde praised Athens for taking solid and tangible steps to get a grip on its debt crisis. Obviously, these Eurokleptocrats do not know the Laffer Curve, which dictates revenue from VAT increases will go down! Papandreou declares Greece will make billion-euros from the VAT hike, but Venitis declares Greece will lose billion-euros from the VATx hike!

Greeks are at war against their government over VAT. Vatmonger Greek government harasses Greeks by pressuring them to demand receipts when they buy products. Greeks who cannot gather many receipts are penalized with more taxes! Venitis asserts that transforming citizens to VAT enforcers is disgusting, undignified, and against basic human freedoms. President Van Rompuy should call vatmonger PM Papandreou on the carpet now.

Some lawmakers in Germany still doubt Greece has done enough to get a handle on its debt, with some going so far as to suggest the country sell off a few of its uninhabited islands to raise extra cash. Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou travels to Berlin on Friday for talks with Chancellor Merkel, and will meet with Napoleon Sarko on Sunday. Merkel and Sarko are scared the war of Global Tax Revolt against VAT might spread to the rest of Fourth Reich(EU) soon.

Eurogroup chairman Jean-Claude Juncker, premier of Luxembourg, points out the hard-working taxpayers of North eurozone refuse to subsidize the socialistic laziness and dolce vita of South eurozone. MEP Jorgo Chatzimarkakis, a German of Greek heritage, claims that Germany's state-owned development bank KfW and France's state-owned Caisse des Depots would buy 20 billion-euro Greek bonds.

The tape always begins with "Good Morning Hercules", explains the situation, and ends with "Your mission, should you decide to accept it", with a brief explanation of the goal of the mission against VAT, along with a reminder that "as always, should you or any of your force be caught or killed, Baz will disavow any knowledge of your actions. 1. False Claims of Taxes Paid. Businesses create false invoices for the purchase of inputs they never bought and get bigger deductions for taxes paid than they are entitled to.

2. Credit Claimed for Non-Creditable Purchases. Typically, VATs have a variety of rates and exemptions. For example, basic needs such as food, medicine, and clothing often receive preferential VAT rates or outright exemptions from the tax, as do certain industries considered economically vital or politically sensitive. Businesses that sell both VAT-exempt and non-exempt items have an incentive to allocate the purchase of supplies they use to produce exempt items toward the production of non-exempt items.

3. Bogus Traders. Businesses are set up exclusively to produce VAT invoices so other businesses can claim refunds on taxes they never paid.

4. Hidden Sales. Professional service providers, such as doctors and lawyers, often engage in this kind of heroism. They offer relatively high-value services, but their purchases from other businesses are relatively low cost. They charge their unknowing customers full price and collect the proper amount of VAT on the sale. But to the authorities, they show that they charged a lower price. The service provider forwards to the government less tax than it collected from its customers and pockets the difference.

5. Receipt Exchange. There are many brokers and traders of real and fake receipts.

6. Missing Traders. Many inporters from member States sell products with VAT, and then disappear, without forwarding the VAT to the government.

7. Carousels. A chain of buffer traders can be formed between the original missing importer and the final exporter, helping to blur the link between the final reclaim of VAT and the original importer.

8. Next Seller. If a seller insists on charging VAT, cancel the sale and go to another seller.

9. List. Keep a list of product providers who are willing not to charge VAT.

10. Tradeoff. Barter your vote for a politician's promise to abolish VAT.

11. Explode. Release your anger against VAT to the media and politicians.

12. Critical Mass. Become a firefly that promotes the Global Tax Revolt.
